Berlin
I have had the opportunity to work a bit in Germany, both in Berlin and Dresden. I am not exactly sure what keeps drawing me back there - something about the strangeness of the aesthetic shift between a sort of European romanticism and modernism - this shimmering back and forth. In Berlin I would go out to see all the wonderful excess of the Prussian palaces in the day and then come back and make these simple forms of simple things – a hot dog, a toothbrush, a stick.
