Rough and Perfect

This collaboration began as a way to make connections between what we each do in our own work and a way to move our studio dialogue out into the world. We have used it as a way to push each other and stretch a bit, to inject fresh ideas and build upon the particular skill sets that we each have. We are both very material oriented, process driven. This collaboration has enabled us to use our skills and techniques in new ways, enabling us to make work in a different sort of way. We start with a spark of an idea–a bit of a story, a “what if “A hint of wallpaper, the enigmatic George, the flora and fauna of our native Ohio. We mix it with studio milled American hardwoods, hand-dropped glass, porcelain cast in-house and dinnerware repurposed. A mix of old and new, lightly finished–it is ROUGH & PERFECT
